“As Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book begins, Mother and Father Wolf are troubled to learn that the tiger, “Shere Khan, the Big One”, has shifted his hunting grounds. The wolves fear the tiger’s presence in their midst may anger local villagers and cause man to seek revenge, threatening animal and land alike.
In 1894, when this collection of short stories was published, 100,000 tigers roamed the wild. Today, that number has plummeted to 3,200. And Shere Khan’s hunting grounds – the habitats in which all wild tigers live – are vanishing. Tigers now occupy only 7% of their original range. We are fast approaching a time when the roar of a tiger in the wild will be replaced forever by silence.
In Kipling’s story, Mowgli, the man-cub, was rescued from a tiger. It is critical that we come together now to save the last of the great wild tigers – from man.”
Above text taken from the need to read article in the Gaurdian.
Below photos: some faces of the only 30 remaining tabby golden tigers in the world, others are the snow white bengal tiger, the royal white bengal tiger and the standard royal bengal tiger. Photographed by Barry Bland/Barcroft Media – absolutely stunning.
Please also visit the Global Tiger summit taking place right now in St Petersburg 21st – 24th of nov. And why not buy your christmas gifts here? Or from some other organisation that actually matters.
I think i will buy this for Sam
…imagine if there will be no tigers left…what shall I then tell my son? Spread the word.

After a weekend of hanging with 3 year olds I needed some time for my self. Well my own 3 year old is sleeping siesta so sitting brousing the blogs for inspiration ( there is an overload…) I wound this amazing kids room. This is just perfect….from the painted brick walls ( don’t you just want to touch them ) to the recycled fruit book shelves, the old style bed and the silver baskets to the star theme and let’s not forget the colors! Yummi!

Clowns, arabian nights and lots of light … in a happy mix. And lets not forget the swing! And personally im a fan of beds on the floor…ah couldn’t be better.
…and this one. just perfect if you are 3, or in a summer house or ski resort or just becuase…so clean and neat and comfy. Love the stripes
here its the little bed table placed at the end of the bed…for your slippers and such and the blue painting that give movement.

I have been I think overly inspired these days. There is just too much information coming in from everywhere and I just feel numb. I want to do millions of things but I am incapable of doing even one of them. Not even writing a decent post…Uffa! Where to start? Well i would have an answer for that one but then … how do I pay for my flat, school, travelling….nah I have to come up with something better. But in the mean time I just color coded one of our book shelves..inspired by all the other color coded book shelves I’ve seen around the blogs. I know…it doesn’t look as stunning as those photos but to my eyes its pretty pleasing now – a Lot Better then before!
