…och endast tomten ar vaken

A classic swedish poem by Victor Rydberg: Tomten. You can read the whole poem here in swedish or just enjoy the illustrations. I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year. I might see you around these days but if I dont – i am most likely sleeping on the sofa after a  huge italian lunch with lots of red wine, bread, cheese and figs.

Some lovely ideas for the kids room.

I think one of the most charming ways of seeing how your child grows is following his drawing skills – how they slowly develop from scribble to art! And it should be hung on the wall and I will for sure do something like below for next year. It’s on my list – and so easy so perfect for someone like me that never seems to get anything done. ( source im so sorry but i forgot! )

Just look at the stripe ceiling, and the library wall full of goodies, the super cosy armchair to cuddle up in just before bedtime. Source: house of turqoise

So organized but still so much fun. Just look at those colorcombos and the suitcases just are so cute! Anyways I just find it perfect! Wish I new where to find that furniture…Source: the mother huddle

Decorated for Santa

So we have now decorated our christmas palm – we have a palm instead of a tree, done our wreath of recycled fabric and hung up the snow flake lamps from IKEA around the living room windows. But i cannot show any pics since our MAC died and the camera is on its way to India. My husband is leaving me and Sam for a week of work down there. But we will have lods of fun . Oh yes….hmmm i want to go to India too…but I will be happy with a cozy afternoon like below too. Its just perfect.

Overload of inspiration!

So I am in Barcelona. I should be in Stockholm right now for 5 days of vacation together with my family but right about when we should go on  the airplane the controllers of the air ( what ever their profession is called ) decided to go on a wild strike so no trip for me…and I had looked forward to this so much!

Can I just tell you I wanted to scream, shout and punch them in the face….In real life I would have done the first 2 and left the last one to my imagination.

Anyhow part from that I think i have had to much information and inspiration lately that i haven’t been able to do anything at all. So sorry for my resent absence. I will try to make amence.

Above photo: one of Lars Sjobergs 9 houses that he has bought over the last 40 years. Actually this is a church. He is currently looking for someone to take over the owner ship. What he does is saving old beautiful houses from being torned down. Renovating little by little with help of family and friends. Its like a passion and his life quest. I can fully understand him. If I had the possibility and if I lived in Sweden I would for sure take a closer look – it is so so lovely.  Want to read more or see more pics of his houses then please visit Svenska Dagbladet.
