Creative people of Brooklyn
I just found through one of the blogs I usually visit during the day the project : the makers – about creative people in Brooklyn: a designer, a baker, an artist, a perfumist etc. A photo diary of one day ..almost..of their creative environment and work and some info about why Brooklyn and other things like their favourite restaurant and what they all do when getting home in the evening. I found it so refreshing and inspiring. Go visit!

Tina Fey – hero of the day!
“First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches. May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty. When the Crystal Meth is offered, may she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half And stick with Beer. Guide her, protect her when crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age. Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes And not have to wear high heels. What would that be, Lord? Architecture? Midwifery? Golf course design? I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit. May she play the Drums to the fiery rhythm of her Own Heart with the sinewy strength of her Own Arms, so she need Not Lie With Drummers. Grant her a Rough Patch from twelve to seventeen.Let her draw horses and be interested in Barbies for much too long, For childhood is short – a Tiger Flower blooming Magenta for one day – And adulthood is long and dry-humping in cars will wait. O Lord, break the Internet forever, that she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers And the online marketing campaign for Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed. And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it. And should she choose to be a Mother one day, be my eyes, Lord, that I may see her, lying on a blanket on the floor at 4:50 A.M., all-at-once exhausted, bored, and in love with the little creature whose poop is leaking up its back. “My mother did this for me once,” she will realize as she cleans feces off her baby’s neck. “My mother did this for me.” And the delayed gratitude will wash over her as it does each generation and she will make a Mental Note to call me. And she will forget. But I’ll know, because I peeped it with Your God eyes. Amen.” -Tina Fey

Print your own fabrics!
Pinning hecticly over at Pinterest I happened to stumble over Spoonflower. Basically 4 amazing people having one amazing idea and making it come true: design and print your own fabric and have it delivered to your home in 2 weeks, no minimums asked There is different qualities to choose from – many of them are ecological – and you can browse through the library of prior clients who has had their own print be immortal on fabric and maybe choose something from there if you aren’t yourself feeling very creative. I who am in the fashion and textile industry feels it is a marvellous thing what they have accomplished and they do make many dreams come true in the hand craft community. Below are some of my favorites but there are so many more!

Weekend fun and not
So I had some fun this weekend…babyshower with fellow viking girls down at the beach and a late night eating tapas and drinking dangerously delicious Margeritas made with mango in the city center of Barcelona. I also dragged myself through a barbecue fighting the nausea and lack of sleep. Luckily the company was very nice and the air did me some good. Now when I have my brain back in a more or less ok shape I needed to share with you below words that sort of is my state of beeing right now. But I will not give up, I will change. Evolve.

Running
Hi,
I have started jogging. 3 km and something. At my best 3 times a week, more likely to do 2 times a week but for the most part I have only done 1 time a week. Better then nothing though! I have realized at a tender age of 37 that I love food to much to do a diet BUT i do want to be fit and live a long and healthy life so I do have to do some sports. Plus the bikini season will soon be nocking on my door so I better try to be ready this time allthough I have some seriuos doubts that I wont be.
One dream to make true: run one marathon. Just one. One time in my life.

Places that changed me…
I have been gone for about a month not writing anything at all. I just couldn’t. Didn’t have the energy or inspiration to do it. I dont know if Im back even know.Maybe i caught a little bit of spring depression or 37 year old crisis but there is something that needs to change in my life.
All is good…it’s just something i can’t put my finger on – there is just something that keeps nagging, like knocking on my door reminding me that everything is not as it should be. Dont know if Im explaining myself…
A friend of mine sometimes sais she misses laughing like crazy, you know with girlfriends. I do to. Just stupid 100% happy no cares at all laughing. Oh i need that!
I love maps. As I do airports. It just give you possibilities…Its like there is a new page in your life to be written. Nothing said – nothing done yet. Just you and that moment. This recycled map heart idea is brilliant: what places would you choose?
Me? I guess it would be where I celebrated christmas as a child at my grandparents house, my hometown Stockholm, Vail in Colorado, New York of course, could and would not forget Florence and Barcelona where 2 of the most important things happened in my life, might add Santa Barbara and Hawaii and for the future more mountains and I would love to go with the whole family to New Zealand one day.
