ecological living – style without compromise

Tina Fey – hero of the day!

“First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches. May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty. When the Crystal Meth is offered, may she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half And stick with Beer. Guide her, protect her when crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age. Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes And not have to wear high heels. What would that be, Lord? Architecture? Midwifery? Golf course design? I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit. May she play the Drums to the fiery rhythm of her Own Heart with the sinewy strength of her Own Arms, so she need Not Lie With Drummers. Grant her a Rough Patch from twelve to seventeen.Let her draw horses and be interested in Barbies for much too long, For childhood is short – a Tiger Flower blooming Magenta for one day – And adulthood is long and dry-humping in cars will wait. O Lord, break the Internet forever, that she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers And the online marketing campaign for Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed. And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it. And should she choose to be a Mother one day, be my eyes, Lord, that I may see her, lying on a blanket on the floor at 4:50 A.M., all-at-once exhausted, bored, and in love with the little creature whose poop is leaking up its back. “My mother did this for me once,” she will realize as she cleans feces off her baby’s neck. “My mother did this for me.” And the delayed gratitude will wash over her as it does each generation and she will make a Mental Note to call me. And she will forget. But I’ll know, because I peeped it with Your God eyes. Amen.” -Tina Fey

Weekend fun and not

So I had some fun this weekend…babyshower with fellow viking girls down at the beach and a late night eating tapas and drinking dangerously delicious Margeritas made with mango in the city center of Barcelona.  I also dragged myself through a barbecue fighting the nausea and lack of sleep. Luckily the company was very nice and the air did me some good.  Now when I have my brain back in a more or less ok shape I needed to share with you below words that sort of is my state of beeing right now. But  I will not give up, I will change. Evolve.

Running

Hi,

I have started jogging. 3 km and something. At my best 3 times a week, more likely to do 2 times a week but for the most part I have only done 1 time a week.  Better then nothing though! I have realized at a tender age of 37 that I love food to much to do a diet BUT i do want to be fit and live a long and healthy life so I do have to do some sports.  Plus the bikini season will soon be nocking on my door so I better try to be ready this time allthough I have some seriuos doubts that I wont be.

One dream to make true: run one marathon. Just one. One time in my life.

Places that changed me…

I have been gone for about a month not writing anything at all. I just couldn’t. Didn’t have the energy or inspiration to do it. I dont know if Im back even know.Maybe i caught a little bit of spring depression or 37 year old crisis but there is something that needs to change in my life.

All is good…it’s just something i can’t put my finger on – there is just something that keeps nagging, like knocking on my door reminding me that everything is not as it should be. Dont know if Im explaining myself…

A friend of mine sometimes sais she misses laughing like crazy, you know with girlfriends. I do to. Just stupid 100% happy no cares at all laughing. Oh i need that!

I love maps. As I do airports. It just give you possibilities…Its like there is a new page in your life to be written. Nothing said  – nothing done yet. Just you and that moment. This recycled map heart idea is brilliant: what places would you choose?

Me? I guess it would be where I celebrated christmas as a child at my grandparents house, my hometown Stockholm, Vail in Colorado, New York of course, could and would not forget Florence and Barcelona where 2 of the most important things happened in my life, might add Santa Barbara and Hawaii and for the future more mountains and I would love to go with the whole family to New Zealand one day.

Ridiculously amazing..

Oh come on! This is just ridiculous! But I could sure use a week or two here…Im getting a cold, my body hurts, im a front of the computer instead of a book, I had a fast food soup instead of home made and on my desk awaits production work. And im in the mood for complaining when I really have it pretty good but…Gosh maybe I should apply for a job here instead. Daydreaming…you allways have time for that!

New crafting books ( or is it craft books? )

Anyhow love getting parcels by mail and having to go to the post office and ask for it and to carry it home and to sit calmly down on my favorite armchair and slowly unravel the inside…that is what i did today. And not to my surprice ( since it was from me ) I got 3 crafting books from Amazon! The Handmade marketplace by Kari Chapin, Printin by hand by Lena Corwin and as per below adorble cover Little stitches for little ones by Amy Butler. Post for Fabriken.

Im so excited!

oh my oh my oh my…I have a new project! A couple of days ago our Mac misteriously crashed so we know have to pay approx 700 euros in order to recuperate all the photos we had saved there and not on our external drive. You learn something every day! OH so angry! Anyhow I cannot loose photos of some of the best moments in my life – Samuel me and Giuseppe -  so of course we will do it but in order to have the memories secured somewhere else to I will make a book of 2008 and 2009 and 2010 as per what blogger Chez Larsson did.  Its faboulus! And its perfect for me. I started the album of Samuel from the day he was born but I have only done his first 6 months and he is 3.5 years now. That its the problem with digital…i just dont print out the photos. Anyhow great project this one! Im so excited!

Excellent since kids love it and they actually eat some veggies too! Sunday concert with Sam and then the afternoon visiting friends who has 2 adorble baby girls.  Looking at what i just wrote Im allready panicing! What about sleeping ??!! and oh…I wanted to sew some baby dresses too for my Etsy store…hmmm and redecorate at home. Isn’t above just so inspirational! and I love globes and maps…from pinterest of course!
