ecological living – style without compromise

If I had an office…

…then it would look something like this.
Lots of light – its vital! White walls and vintage storage objects, colorfull details as using old tomato cans and decorating them with wall paper, a MAC and my 2 sowing mashines.

I should also get my dads old typewriting mashine where i used to write my school papers on for writing thank you cards to those who order my Blueberries & Milk dresses.

and I need a huge table for cutting and patternmaking…And music! Tom Waits, Johnson ,Frankenreiter etc etc…

And all my office supplies I would get from the GREEN OFFICE SUPPLIES website.

A wall of creativity

Desperatly looking for the shack of designer Isabel Marrant and Jeromy Dreyfuss in France with no luck. Where did I saw it today? In what blog? I was sure it was the NY times…but anyhow NY times allways has great slideshows of homes and now I found a photo of this so perfect in every way childs room. The whole wall to paint on, the light coming in, the use of antique furniture..the lamp and one of my all time favorite interior item: the globe. The color of the walls and the geographic patterned carpet makes perfection.

…but i still wonder: where are all the toys? the mess? … the crayons for making those drawings. I know I know its a photoshoot but still.

Have a lovely weekend! I so need it!

Something about those Brazilians…

and their playfull apartments that just make me awwww. They have a natural talent for mixing old with new, soft with hard surfaces, color and texture that is to me a pleaure for the eye.  And just ideas like using for storage old plastic fruit and veggie boxes and put them in a 60’s inspired shelf furniture…so like it!I can imagine the room getting filled with beautfull people, a mojito in their hand dancing softly the rythms of samba. More of the very interesting  historical background of this modern Brazilian design concept and photos ( yeah! ) is here.

the 21st-century industrial kitchen…

Browsing through the web I found in the Gaurdian this super interesting article about how to achieve the ever so trendy industrial kitchen.I does seem to be the new it regarding interior… i see it a little bit on all the blogs i follow.Sort of an extension from shabby chic no? But cleaner looking. I adore it!

Went windowshopping at ETSY

Its late. My boy just went of to sleep and I had a cup of cerial infront of ETSY. Thank god for ETSY! Who ever had that idea really really got lucky. Anyhow I love to see how many creative people there are out there and this is one of my favorite places for that. Allthough its not allways ‘green’ materials there are 3 basic rules to participate in ETSY: handmade, vintage or selling craft accessories…so its all about back to basic and supporting the artist. And a lot of them still use organic cottons etc so…
